Unforgettable wedding reception at the National Opera Garnier. The dream of Marie and James came true when they married at the Eglise sainte Clotilde in Paris, followed by a big bash the Opéra Garnier Franco-Brazilian style with a dash of Britishness. Friends and family flew from all over the world. Marie’s family from Brazil, James family from the UK and friends from the U.S and all over Europe gathered for this memorable week end in Paris. I shared a few photos from their Paris wedding ceremony a few days past, here more visuals from a very stylish, glamorous and very fun evening. The national opera staircase was all decorated with very colorful, bright red, yellow, green paper cut flowers. A Brazilian Samba group of musicians and dancers were leading the night away from cocktail hour to the cutting of the cake. The national opera is such a prestigious background for Marie and James wedding adventure. The photographs are gorgeous, full of life and energy. It was a lot of fun being part of this wonderful affair in such a grand historical location.
Congratulation to the newly weds.
This past week end, I photographed the wedding of Marie and James in Paris. The photos are gorgeous, we had a wonderful day and i couldn’t wait posting a few of Marie and James wedding photographs on my blog. Their wedding ceremony took place at the “Eglise Sainte Clotilde” in the 7th arr. of Paris, right behind the national assemblée while the evening celebration happened at the National Opera Garnier. Friends and family flew from all over to celebrate their wedding day. No need to say there are so many photographs, i had a lot of fun looking through today. I decided to post the ceremony first which will be followed by the evening photographs in a different post later on this week.
Enjoy all …. and of course more later!
What is the best time to get married in Paris, have some family portraits done or renew your vows? Well it is not about timing but about love and the desire to celebrate a very special moment with your love ones in the most amazing city on earth whether it rains or the sun is out for the afternoon. Paris can be a little grey and humid at times. Woody Allen said there is nothing best then Paris on a rainy day! I have great pleasure to capture romance in the streets of Paris. A little umbrella may come handy at times on a day like yesterday. We had a little drizzle towards the end of our photo session. The Louvre was very quiet and peaceful for a chance. The rain did not stop us from having some fun from the Eiffel tower to the seine, the Louvre and the palais royal. So get your umbrella ready, you never know and even if it doesn’t rain we might use it as a prop singing in the rain or not!
April and Paolo eloped in Paris. They flew all the way from Arkansas to celebrate their union in the city of love, all by themselves. WeddingLight Events planned their big day & we were lucky enough to be their wedding photographer for the day. We produced a video clip as well which will be up in a little while. We met at their hotel in Saint Germain des Près for the getting ready of the bride. April and Paolo had their wedding ceremony in the gardens of the Trocadero. WeddingLight events had organized a harpist to play a few tunes during the ceremony. The officiant speech was modern and quite moving. I do love the Trocadero gardens for a wedding ceremony; it is very quiet, the grounds are gorgeous and yet it is footsteps away from the Eiffel tower.
Paolo and April wedding photographs are quite stylish & elegant and a lot of fun to shoot. I always want to make sure that my wedding couples are going to have some fun with their wedding photographer. I want my photographs to be first and foremost fun and lively. I try to keep away from posed portraits to privilege more natural photography. I think you will get a sense of my style in those few wedding photographs. They are happy, obviously very much in love and although they both were a little shy in front of the camera at first, I managed to make them smile a lot in front of the lens! We did have a wonderful time traveling the streets of Paris in a gorgeous white Bentley. Our photographic journey took us to the gardens of the trocadero for the ceremony as well as the pont Alexandre III, the place de la Concorde and the gardens of the palais royal.
From our bride: “We eloped in Paris earlier this month and choosing Olivier as our photographer and Wedding Light Events to coordinate was the best decision we made. Our photos and video were absolutely amazing! We are both camera shy, but thankfully he guided us through the day and somehow made the end product look so natural and effortless. He also had the photos & video back to us within the same week! Is that even possible? Needless to say, our expectations were met a million times over. Thank you!!!”
